In a world where hustle and bustle often take precedence, it’s crucial to remember that mental health is just as important as physical health. As we approach World Mental Health Day, it’s the perfect time to highlight how BA Events, a leading events management company, goes above and beyond to care for its teams’ mental well-being. In an industry known for its high-pressure environment, BA Events has made employee mental health a top priority.

Creating a Supportive Work Environment:

At BA Events, fostering a supportive work environment is the first step toward promoting mental wellbeing. We believe that happy and healthy team members are essential for the success of any project. To achieve this, they have implemented several initiatives to create a workplace that encourages open communication, teamwork, and personal growth.

1. Regular Team Catch-ups: The BA team get together 3 times per week to ‘check-in’. It’s so much more than work on the agenda, it’s an opportunity to make sure everyone is okay and we are looking out for each other. As part of these meetings, we review our project deadlines and identify opportunities to spread work throughout the team.

2. Do Not Disturb on Annual Leave: We have a policy where team members have their emails turned off and inaccessible whilst on annual leave. This is clearly communicated to clients to ensure that our team can enjoy well-earned time off and not have to worry about the stresses of work.

3. Flexible Work Arrangements: Recognising that work-life balance is essential for mental health, BA Events provides flexible work arrangements, allowing employees to better manage their personal and professional responsibilities.

Promoting Work-Life Balance:

BA Events understands that long hours and tight deadlines can take a toll on mental health. To mitigate this, we actively promotes a healthy work-life balance among its team.

1. Encouraging Time Off: Our team are encouraged to take regular breaks, this includes during the working day and on event days. The leaders in our business lead by example.

2. Remote Work Options: BA Events has embraced remote work options, allowing employees to work from home when necessary, reducing the stress of commuting and providing a comfortable environment for those who prefer it.

3. Reduced Overtime: We sometimes have to work late or long days to deliver projects. However, we actively monitor via our time tracking tool and limit overtime to ensure team members have time for their personal lives and self-care.
